Breckenridge - Elevation 9,603'
Nestled in a valley on the western slope of the Continental Divide, Breckenridge is the perfect mountain town. Everyone knows Breckenridge for its skiing and snowboarding, but it was actually settled during the Pike’s Peak Gold Rush in 1859 and celebrates its 150th birthday this year. You’ll learn more about this during the history and mining tour. The quaint, picturesque quality of Breck — that’s what the locals call it — makes it a place you’ll want to get friendly with immediately. We’ll spend time strolling down Main Street, full of shops, eateries and galleries. Then, we’ll go panning for gold. It’s a dandy of a day trip.
